Travis W. Calvert is a civil trial lawyer whose practice focuses primarily on defense in premises liability and automobile and commercial truck accident litigation. Mr. Calvert also advises businesses regarding commercial transactions and collections. He represents a broad range of clients, from national insurance companies and trucking companies, to local businesses in Warren County, Kentucky. Mr. Calvert has experience litigating in federal and state courts.

Litigation Experience

  • Served as trial counsel in federal district court representing a large commercial trucking company and obtained a favorable settlement on disputed issues of liability and causation;
  • Served as trial counsel in federal district court involving a national retail chain in a slip and fall/premises liability case and obtained a favorable settlement;
  • Served as trial counsel in federal district court representing employer in employment discrimination/wrongful termination claim and obtained a favorable settlement;
  • Served as trial counsel in state court representing an appraisal company in a negligent appraisal action and obtained a favorable settlement;
  • Served as trial counsel representing employer in a negligent hiring/retention case involving allegations of sexual assault and obtained a favorable settlement;
  • Served as trial counsel on numerous state court actions throughout Kentucky involving automobile accidents and injuries.

Business/Collection Experience

  • Represented large and small companies in multiple actions involving collections on past due accounts;
  • Represented regional construction contractor in collecting on multimillion dollar state project;
  • Filed lawsuits and obtained judgments in overdue account cases; executed/filed judgment liens on real estate and garnishments on personal and commercial checking accounts to satisfy said judgments.

Presentation Experience

  • Presenter at insurance company seminars regarding “bad faith” handling of insurance claims;
  • Former adjunct professor; Introduction to Business Law at Western Kentucky University.
