Mark D. Alcott is a trial and transaction lawyer who focuses on defense and commercial litigation. He represents a broad range of clients, from individual business owners to large corporations and banks.

Mr. Alcott has experience litigating in federal and state courts.

Litigation Experience

  • Served as trial counsel in federal district court on a trade infringement case for a large corporation and obtained a favorable settlement;
  • Served as trial counsel in federal district court and obtained favorable settlement on behalf of international electronics company in suit arising from alleged product liability in a fire case;
  • Served as trial counsel in federal district court and obtained favorable settlement in medical device case;
  • Served as trial counsel in state court and obtained favorable settlement for physician on allegations of professional malpractice on death claim.
Commercial Transaction Experience

  • Represented marine company in financing vessels in over $20 million of new debt;
  • Represented bank in financing of $30 million for area manufacturing facility.

Business Experience

  • Set up and advise small businesses as limited liability companies and corporations;
  • Collect past due accounts through litigation and garnishment;
  • File Mechanic’s Liens on behalf of contractors and subcontractors.

Estate Planning and Administration

  • Draft estate documents including simple wills, powers of attorney and living wills;
  • Draft complex estate planning wills and trusts;
  • Represent and counsel estate executors in probate court.

Real Estate

  • Draft deeds, contracts of sale and title opinions for real estate transactions;
  • Handle real estate closings and draft loan documents for buyers.
